Dear UCE Friend,

We have been inundated for weeks with darkness and worry due to the coronavirus. But today, this Blessed Easter morning, we bring GOOD News! "I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness." John 12:46

First, a Burundi girl's message to UCE which speaks to the transformation she has experienced: "I want to tell you what I feared to tell publicly. I was not raised in my father and mother's house...I have been commiting sexual intercourse with the boys until now, that I hear the dangers of commiting such a sin. You really raised me from the dead. May the Lord bless UCE as you save other youth like me." 

Second, we're also grateful that thus far, it appears that UCE teams in Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi have not fallen ill with the virus, although the schools are closed in Uganda and Tanzania for the short term for precautions related to coronavirus.

Third, UCE's previous Executive Director, Andrew Dernovsek, who is now in seminary in Paris, France, has recovered fully from coronavirus.

Finally, I’m excited to announce that thanks to your support, the hard work of the UCE teams, UCE’s many volunteers including the UCE Board, UCE has just reached an amazing milestone: 500,000 youth and individuals have signed chastity commitment cards through UCE's programs!  To be precise, we have counted 500,046 chastity cards signed. That is, over ½ million youth  and individuals have received UCE’s teaching of “Abstinence, Be Faithful, through Christ," and signed a chastity commitment card to choose to commit to the chastity lifestyle for the first time or as a “second chance” since UCE’s founding in 2004. Many more have heard the UCE message, and did not yet sign a card but may have committed to chastity in their heart.

These ½ million youth and individuals who have taken the chastity message to heart, have embraced this pro-life message by choosing a Godly behavior that prevents teen pregnancy, prevents the transmission of HIV/AIDS/STDs, provides a good discipline to build their future marriage, and gives them a chance at a successful future by waiting until the proper time. 

Thank you for your part in making such a difference in ½ million youth and individuals. I wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Easter.  Let's continue together to one million and beyond!
