Dear UCE Friends & Family,

Greetings! Despite COVID-19, UCE has continued to touch the lives and hearts of the youth in Burundi, Tanzania, and Uganda, shining like a bright spot from Africa!

In Burundi, since cases are low and the country never experienced a COVID shut down, UCE teams continued to give chastity education outreaches to schools. Alice shares her brief thanks to you, UCE supporters, and her testimony after the UCE team came to her school.  “I represent the girls here at our school. I can’t find the expression to thank you enough for the UCE message. It really touched and strengthened me. I will continue to avoid the factors we discussed and encourage my fellow girls to always remember the commitment we made on the chastity cards.” Thank you for helping students like Alice!

UCE-Tanzania has just resumed youth outreaches after schools were re-opened earlier in June. Just prior to COVID, over the course of one week, UCE Tanzania reached a new district, “Singida Rural” located in central Tanzania. There, they conducted 25 outreaches reaching an incredible 11,442 students, with 10,210 students signing chastity cards as a commitment to that lifestyle for the first time or as a “second chance!” See accompanied pictures.   At the conclusion of their time there, they had an evaluation of the UCE program with district representative, Mr. Bulala, who said, “At the beginning I thought these guys (UCE team) were crazy...I was observing the face of Mr. Mgina. He was very serious and it was not a joke. Then I waited to see how the UCE ladies would teach them. I observed the same thing from them. When I heard students’ questions and moving to the second school I did understand...  They wanted students to understand them very well and to live a chaste life. Through these outreaches I have learned many things. I promise to make sure my schools will continue to embrace chastity life because it will help them live a healthy life, increase their performance, and in turn raise our municipality performance. Thank you very much Mr. James for telling me about UCE and also thank you UCE team for agreeing to come to our schools. I wish you to reach all schools in Singida region...” They insisted the UCE team go to other districts but also to come again to Singida district to have seminars and the establishment of the UCE clubs to reinforce the message to the students.  Thank you, UCE donors, for allowing UCE-Tanzania to reach so many students in Singida!

In Uganda, since schools are not yet re-opened, the UCE teams have turned to the radio with this healthy, Christian, pro-life message (pictured right). The UCE team has reported many radio listeners phoning in with much gratitude and questions about how to live a pure, chaste, healthy life, free from the threat of HIV/AIDS given their particular circumstances.

Thank you for joining UCE in this pro-life mission to the youth in Africa to help them live out the Christian virtue of chastity/purity so they can live healthy, godly lives! Thank you to you who have supported UCE’s work! COVID has made our fundraising more challenging this year. If you have not yet supported UCE’s efforts, please kindly consider it by clicking HERE

I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and well. Thanks for your support. God bless you!

In Christ,

Sarah Smith, UCE-USA Director
